THE HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR REFEREEING CAREER SO FAR–
Forres Mechanics v Elgin City. Ran the line in this friendly. Very fast.
ANY PET HATES IN FOOTBALL?
The knowledge (or lack of it) for the rules of the game from players and coaches.
WHICH, IF ANY, LAW WOULD YOU CHANGE?
Off-side, If you are in a off-side position when the ball is kicked then you are off, regardless where the ball is going.
WHAT DOES BEING A REFEREE MEAN TO YOU?
That I can continue to enjoy my football in an active way and not in the stands or sitting in my house.
WHAT MADE YOU TAKE UP REFEREEING?
Change of job which made it hard to continue with coaching a local Girls team. Still wanted to be involved so I sat the exam in Spring 2006.
YOUR REFEREEING AMBITIONS –
Age being against me, however I would hope to make grade 5 to run the line in the Highland League for the start of the 2007/08 season.
MAIN STRENGTHS –
Not easily offended.
MAIN WEAKNESSES-
At the moment it would be lack of experience in the middle.
FUNNIEST MOMENT WHILE REFEREEING-
Training nights are good for a laugh with talk about the previous weekend matches and one or two people in the dog house. Take nothing away from training though, it's hard.
ANY HOBBIES & INTERESTS-
Family are very important to me.
ADVICE FOR A REFEREE JUST BEGINNING THEIR CAREER–
Don’t leave it too late. I have found the association to be very warm and welcoming and there are plenty opportunities out there as a referee.
